Nigel Crocker, Youth Worker and Sheila Davies, part-time Youth Worker, visited Elimaki between 30th November and 5th December, in preparation for the second part of a Youth Exchange programme. Ten young people from Elimaki travelled to England in July 2002, and were taken to places of interest and leisure activities in London. They stayed at our Youth House in Gravesend, which is in Kent, quite near to London. The return trip for ten English young people will be in January 2003.
The week will not be all work so our friends in Elimaki have arranged for the English to take part in some activities they have never done before, such as skiing, snow mobiles and skating. It was necessary therefore that Nigel and Sheila came to Elimaki to research the activities to make sure they complied with the health and safety standards that apply in England, before our young people can come.
Happily everything was very good and we are looking forward to returning in January.
